Human Resources Generalist

Job description

Responsible for providing college-wide training, support and maintenance of various HR employee-related systems, including Oracle HRIS/Payroll, Onboarding, E-Verify, SURS, Banner, and more. Serves as the initial HR contact for employees, internal departments and external vendors, providing outstanding customer service in person, online and by phone. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department concerning system maintenance, file and database recordkeeping and miscellaneous state reporting. Provides support for various HR functions, including employment records, recruitment, onboarding, SURS, HRIS/Payroll, and more. Serves as a primary human resource contact as needed; handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, managers and outside verifications, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff if necessary. Provides guidance and shares knowledge with other Human Resources staff regarding policy and procedure questions. Trains supervisors, managers, and other staff to utilize the applicant tracking system as appropriate. This includes one-on-one training as well as group workshops.
