Job description

Senior Technicians interface primarily between work center technicians and maintenance control prioritizing workload to ensure aircraft availability to meet squadron Flight Schedule tasking, accomplish CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures requirements within their assigned areas of responsibility and perform direct hands-on aircraft maintenance when required to meet mission needs or as directed by contractor Team Leads. Senior Technicians are primarily assigned as working technical subject matter experts on the hangar deck level performing hands-on maintenance actions as well as assignment of specific tasks to contractor personnel to meet operational needs. Shall have authority to direct work center personnel, of equal or lesser level, to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions (responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.)
