Description Location : New York: Position Description: The Teacher of the Deaf /HH or Early Childhood Special Educator serves a pivotal role within Clarke’s birth-3 program, conducting evaluations, providing individual SI sessions, virtually and in person and leads SI groups, such as parent/infant groups, toddler groups and parent support groups. Clarke’s EI program uses parent coaching approach, to increase parents/caregivers capacity to use strategies and skills to support each child’s overall development, increase amplification use, and to apply listening and spoken language techniques outside of the intervention setting. The EI teacher works closely with Clarke’s EI team of Speech Pathologists, Audiologist, OT/PT, service coordinator and other educators to support infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. This is a full time, 35 hour per week position that follows the preschool 6-week summer schedule and academic calendar Sept-June, with the possibility of flexible scheduling for any parent groups meeting outside of regular business hours.
