Suburban General Assignment Reporter, Inquirer Local The Philadelphia Inquirer is hiring a general assignment reporter to cover the Pennsylvania suburbs and play a central role as we grow our Inquirer suburban coverage initiative. We’re looking for a well-rounded reporter who excels at breaking news and enterprise reporting, and is committed to understanding and responding to community news and information needs. You’ll cover the Philadelphia suburbs with a special focus on specific yet-to-be-identified suburban communities. We want applicants who excel at sourcing, are equally nimble writing news and features, and are open-minded about new story forms and aggregation. The Suburban GA reporter will join the new Inquirer Local team, which includes two other suburban reporters and two newsletter editors. Your work will be a key piece of our suite of weekly suburban newsletters, as you will be expected to write lead story items and smaller news items for the newsletter. This position is hybrid and based in Greater Philadelphia with many shifts able to be worked either from home or the field. This reporter may live anywhere in the Philly region.
