Job Summary: The Train Operator Apprentice is an entry level position requiring training in the operation of diesel locomotives and loading/unloading of commodities such as lignite, ash and western coal. Job Description: Key Roles & Responsibilities: Job duties include but are not limited to: - Performs switching operations. - Performs light maintenance repairs to locomotives and railcars. - Complies with the Luminant safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. - Complies with Luminant's Railroad Operating Rule Book and Local Operating Procedures. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Work is of a physical nature and performed in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. - Must be willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift and overtime as scheduled or assigned.
