Job description
Department of Fisheries Biology Temporary Faculty Pool The Department: We offer outstanding undergraduate and graduate (MS) programs in Fisheries Biology. We also have two affiliated cooperative programs, The Pacific Coast Ocean Observing System (PaCOOS) and one of only 40 such cooperative research units, CA Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. We provide hands-on, field-oriented programs with a strong interplay between classroom theory and field laboratory practice. Our outstanding facilities include our Fish Hatchery, Fish Collection, the Research Vessel Coral Sea, and our Telonicher Marine Laboratory. At Cal Poly Humboldt, we prepare our students to be successful by providing our majors with the knowledge, skills, and motivation required to ensure the conservation of fish and aquatic resources that are faced with increasing societal demands and increasing loss or degradation of habitat. Our students will leave with fish ecology skills, fisheries techniques skills, communication skills, quantitative skills, fisheries management skills, and critical thinking skills. https://www.humboldt.edu/fisheries-biology Courses/Areas of Specialization: Courses offered by the departmen...
