The Tooling Specialist’s responsibilities include using existing skills in fabrication, machining and welding to build fixtures, gauges, and other specialty products in support of the plant’s production requirements. Primary Responsibilities: · Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties, and mathematics. · Fabricate fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs. · Utilize various instruments including micrometers, squares, and vernier calipers. · Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines. · Select the appropriate tools, materials, and machines to be used in preparation of machinery work.
