Job Overview: - 4 day work week, 2nd shift $28.77/hr plus 1.00 shift differential pay M - TH 2:15pm - 12:45am (Mill or Lathe) - 5 day work week, 1st shift $28.77/hr, M - F 6am - 2:30pm (Lathes) - OT usually 2 Saturdays a month (6 hr shift 5am - 11am); OT on Friday for 2nd shift (6 hr shift 2:15pm - 8:15pm) - Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills - Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications and tool instructions - Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder - Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures - Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut - 1st piece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs) - Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specifications - Requires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers - Keeps work area clean and orderly - Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
