The successful candidate will lead the development of ocean models, building upon existing modeling frameworks established by the group. The primary modeling tool will be SCHISM (Semi-implicit Cross-scale Hydroscience Integrated System Model), an open-sourced ocean modeling system that has been widely used in numerous ocean forecasting products. Responsibilities include expanding the capabilities of current ocean model applications, with emphasis on hydrodynamics, coastal flooding, biogeochemical simulations, and the dispersion of coastal pollutants and fish larvae.
