Description Mental Health Association of Nassau County (MHANC) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improving mental health in our community through advocacy, education, program development, and the delivery of direct services. The Veterans Peer Facilitator will conduct veteran peer support groups in various locations in Nassau County. Bring documentation from NCOMHCDDDS to Nassau County mental health programs. In addition to transporting documents, courier transports individuals while utilizing personal experience and peer specialist training to assist others in their recovery from psychiatric illness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for the transportation of written materials, packages, booklets, mail, etc. from agency to agency some of which are of confidential nature. - Conduct Peer Support Groups in various locations in Nassau County. - Conduct public speaking at veterans groups and other social service organizations to publicize services. - Operate in a mobile capacity to engage with veteran’s when needed - Interact individually with veteran’s to recommend referrals to other benefits and services. - Respond to urgent situations as need...
