The senior physician in this position performs periodic examinations on adults with acute or chronic illnesses requiring specialty care including HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and STDs prescribing treatment, medication, and follow-up care. Maintains medical records on patients. Reviews records including laboratory, x-ray, consultation reports, hospital records, and summaries and other pertinent reports appropriate for comprehensive health care. Referrals for consultation or emergency care are done when appropriate and necessary. Collaborates with both on-site and other physicians and mid-level health providers to assure integrated and comprehensive specialty care services for adults.
