Job description

The Role Reporting directly to the Sonoma County CAO, the Executive Director, Nursing for Petaluma Valley Hospital and Healdsburg Hospital, has responsibility for the operation of the Professional Nursing Practice within Acute Care Services. Administers all aspects of nursing operations. Creates and manages an environment to provide safe, effective, and high quality, values based patient care in a fiscally responsible manner through direction, support, and development of direct reports and nursing staff, and through work with the medical staff and management staff of other divisions. Assures development of patient care policies and procedures, standards of care, standards of practice and standards to measure, assess and improve patient outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans, administers and evaluates patient care programs and nursing operations. Participates in the organization’s long range planning, goal development, strategic initiatives and designing of patient care services and programs with the senior management team, medical staff, board and other clinical leaders.
