POSITION TITLE: Instructional Aide- Title 1 DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: STATUS: Classified – NonExempt HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday - 7 hours per day, 171-day calendar STARTING SALARY: $14.00 hourly Required: 48 hours of college credit or the ability to pass the Title 1 assessment test POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing additional educational support for those students in grades kindergarten through fifth grades in large classrooms and/or who are not performing at grade level in reading and math. In addition, the instructional aides support the schools’ program by assisting in the recess activity program and filling in for the office staff as needed and/or assigned. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 48 hours of college credit or the ability to pass the Title 1 assessment test - Assesses students in reading and math using a variety of tools for the purpose of determining student progress and learning needs. - Collaborates with and takes direction from classroom teachers for the purpose of aligning small group and individual instruction with classroom needs. - Coordinates with the building principal or other appointed supervisor for the purpo...
