Responsibilities: Inpatient Care: - Provides medical services under the direction of a physician to patients presenting specialty conditions or disease (depending on assigned department), consistent with the PA’s current Practice Description approved by the State of Oregon Board of Medical Examiners. - Rounds on service patients: assesses patients, performs physical exams, writes orders, documents daily notes. - Orders and interprets laboratory tests and radiological examinations. Reports clinical data at rounds or when appropriate. - Recognizes and evaluates patients who require the immediate medical or surgical attention and, when necessary, initiates, without supervision, emergency medical treatments. - Assists in surgical procedures in emergency, clinic and the operating room. - Performs minor surgical, diagnostic, and the...
