Job description
Job Purpose The makerspace intern, under the support of the LC Makerspace and Technology Team, would help support the daily operations and use of the equipment at the LC Makerspace. Interns will learn how to operate machinery like 3D printers, laser cutters, embroidery machines, etc. and help develop content to instruct our youth through hands-on workshops and other mediums. This position will support the makerspace through completing machine maintenance and internal fabrication projects for prototyping in addition to supporting users as they work in the space. Learning Objectives: - Learn technical skills in 3D printing, CAD, laser cutting, CNC embroidery, design, and more. - Develop skills in technical communication and curriculum design. - Gain access to new machinery and fabrication techniques through hands-on projects. - Lead workshops and help users create their own projects in the space. - Build foundational knowledge of project planning and teamwork.
