Shop Mechanic - Wakefield, VA

Job description

Primary Responsibilities: - Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment - Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently - Conduct preventative maintenance inspections - Maintain accurate service and repair records - Follow all safety and shop procedures Preferred Qualifications: - Mechanical experience (fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment preferred) - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Valid driver’s license required - Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Education and Experience: - Proven experience as auto mechanic - Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles - Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods - Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift) - Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc. - Excellent physical condition - High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
