Job Description Position Overview: Responsible for operation and proficient understanding of packaging machinery including palletizers, depalletizers, strappers, stretch wrappers, forklifts, and overall flow of production. Operation of production machines involves performing short-cycle, repetitive, and control operations of equipment, while maintaining set patterns of products to attain high-quality output that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Maintains standard machine operation and accurately records production. Communicates production information at shift change. Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shut-down procedures for each machine. Performs minor adjustments to machinery to ensure smooth, continued machine operation. Has authority to stop machines/production for machine problems or breakdowns, and communicates them to Production Coordinator or Maintenance. Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop production due to quality issues, including raw materials. Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals.
