Description The Procedure Scheduler is responsible for the technical coordination and scheduling of specialized medical procedures and external testing. This role requires applying clinical knowledge to verify that scheduled services align with provider-ordered diagnoses while ensuring the accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 codes. Key operational tasks include prioritizing authorization requests based on medical urgency, securing prior authorizations through payer portals, and maintaining up-to-date records of insurance requirements. Additionally, the Procedure Scheduler provides patients with critical instructions regarding test preparations and arrival times, manages "Jelly Beans" in eCW, and facilitates referrals to outside practices to ensure continuity of care.
