Description Position Number: 820328: The Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center (SSPC) at Duquesne University is excited to welcome applications from distinguished scholars to be its Visiting Phenomenology Scholar for the Spring 2027 semester. Founded more than 130 years ago by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Duquesne University places a premium on excellence in scholarship and the pursuit of truth through research on the human condition and experience. Since the middle of last century, phenomenology has played a central role at Duquesne in this research. At Duquesne, phenomenology has been pursued in a signal way through the SSPC, which has for over four decades played a significant role in the development of phenomenological research and teaching in North America, Europe, and Africa. At Duquesne, phenomenology has been a major focus in the fields of philosophy and psychology, and it has also been pursued in fields of nursing, music, education, theology, and communication and rhetorical studies.
