The Opportunity The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Finance department. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting while maintaining compliance with Chartwell Retirement Residences’ policies and objectives. Key Accountabilities Based on Chartwell Retirement Residences’ business plan and corporate goals, and in consultation with the Director, Operations Property Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for: - Producing accurate and reliable property-level financial reporting packages - Providing financial analysis of financial statements - Assisting in the quarterly review and annual auditing processes - Integrating new acquisitions - Working collaboratively with property/operations management to develop and analyze the annual property budgets, including capital budgets - Reviewing monthly financial packages prepared by property accountants - Assist in managing relationships with external consultants and stakeholders - Review monthly working paper packages and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness - Provide mentorship, feedback, and guidance to accountants within the team - Collaborate and communicate e...
