About this unit 8 South Neuro is a 52-bed progressive/medical surgical, comprehensive Stroke certified unit that offers a solid foundation in nursing for new grads. The unit has a focus on acute strokes, neurosurgical interventions, such as craniotomies, spine procedures and VP shunts. In addition, a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit. The unit is fast-paced and offers many learning opportunities. Teamwork and staff encouragement, professionalism and displaying integrity and respect; positive and eager to learn; highly organized and flexible; effective communication with patients, families and coworkers.
