Overview The Agency of Natural Resources' Department of Environmental Conservation seeks a talented and effective leader for a rare opportunity to serve as Vermont's Director of the Air Quality and Climate Division (AQCD). The AQCD implements state and federal clean air laws and works with federal, regional, state and local agencies and organizations to address air pollution and climate change. The Director is responsible for developing a vision and setting a leadership example for a staff of approximately 25 talented planners, scientists, environmental analysts and engineers. The AQCD Director is also responsible managing the Divisions programs, including permitting, compliance, monitoring, mobile sources and planning. The AQCD monitors ambient air quality and air pollution emissions from sources, proposes regulations to improve existing air quality, ensures compliance with the regulations, updates state implementation plans, and issues permits to control pollution from sources of air contaminants across the state.
