Medication Aide (OR) POSITION SUMMARY: The Medication Aide plays a key role in fostering a joyful and vibrant community. They care for residents by administering and assisting with both routine and non-routine, non-injectable medications. These medications are given orally, rectally, or topically, following physician orders and nursing practices. This is all done under the guidance and direction of the Director of Nursing Services, in line with our policies, procedures, and guidelines. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES: - Completes simple nursing treatments and monitors residents as directed by the Director of Nursing where State Nursing Regulations authorize such delegation. - Performs various tasks assigned by the Director of Nursing Services including but not limited to vital signs, residents' weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention. - Follows standard precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security.
