Summary: As a Freight Brokerage Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the logistics and transportation industry. You will assist the brokerage team in coordinating and managing the shipment of goods, working with carriers, shippers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient freight movements. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills in customer service, negotiation, supply chain management, and logistics technology. Duties/Responsibilities: Carrier & Customer Relations: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with carriers and shippers, ensuring timely and effective communication regarding freight needs and shipping details. Load Matching & Scheduling: Help identify available carriers for freight loads, negotiate rates, and schedule pick-ups and deliveries. Data Entry & Tracking: Enter load details into the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS), track shipments, and update customers and carriers on the status of their freight. Rate Negotiation: Support the brokerage team in negotiating rates with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.
