Job description

What Will You Do? Welds on various materials in required positions using multiple welding processes-including, but not limited to: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW- to fabricate piping as designed, (Note: pipe work comprises a small percentage of daily tasks; other welding assignments will be expected as needed.) Performs work associated with installation, calibration, and operation of different types of production machines, depending on company specialization or materials used. Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation. Checks that items produced pass quality control tests. Lay out, position, fit and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied piping/structural fabrication drawings.
