Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm OR 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, with rotating Saturdays 7:00 am - 12:00 pm. Work Shift: Day Scheduled Weekly Hours: 27 Summary: This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing excellent customer service and enabling the facilitation of positive patient outcomes by scheduling referral appointments and obtaining prior authorizations as needed for patients. This position will serve as a representative for the clinic and hospital to each patient they serve. Job Description: - Job Duties - Schedule referral appointments for patients at the provider's direction. - Provide education and referral options to patient, placing an emphasis on services offered at Mercy Medical Center. - Serve as the clinic representative to the healthcare community by providing patients with accurate and timely information. - Prioritize the daily scheduling according to date, time, urgency and referral type (radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, etc.). - Work task list or referral work queue in electronic health record. - Communicate the date, time, location and any preparation instructions for the scheduled appointment to the patient by...
