Salary Range: Hiring Rate $65,492 Purpose of Classification: Responds to emergency and non-emergency medical calls, disasters, multi-casualty situations, fires and /or all other types of emergencies, to treat illnesses and injuries of adult and pediatric patients, often under stressful and hazardous conditions, while operating under a complex system of standing orders. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Operates emergency vehicle to and from the scene to facilitate the transport of sick and injured patients to the appropriate facility, in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Evaluates the incident scene upon arrival and identifies dangerous conditions and hazards in order to ensure the safety of the crew and patient(s). Conducts thorough patient assessment and examination; triages patients accordingly; initiates the appropriate medical care; and evaluates the need for additional resources.
