This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for Transportation Management Center (TMC) System Operator I for our client’s Hauppauge, NY office. The TMC System Operator I shall have a detailed familiarity with Long Island's roadways, understand communications protocols and be knowledgeable on the location and purpose of all ITS elements. Candidates must be capable of independently following procedures and direction with minimal oversight and supervision. This position would work 5am-1pm. Your Impact: - Operate the TMC’s advanced traffic management system (ATMS); - Monitor radios/police scanners, CCTV displays, and system map for incidents; - Monitor computerized traffic signal and ramp metering activities; - Dispatch traffic signals malfunctions and highway maintenance calls to appropriate personnel or jurisdictions; - Perform record keeping tasks, keyboard entries and generate daily reports; - Monitor and update all variable message signs including dial-up portable signs Who You Are: Required Qualifications: - A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required - Must possess a valid Driver’s License - Must be willing to work all shifts including weekends, overni...
