Newport News, Virginia Overview: The Professional Nursing Clinical Coordinator is a designated member of faculty who works under the supervision of the Associate Dean of the Professional Nursing and designated Program Coordinators and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the philosophy and objectives specific to the clinical requirements of the programs (Day BSN & EW AAS Programs). Responsible for planning and organizing nursing clinical experiences, including clinical sites and facilities, faculty and preceptor orientation, and preceptor assignments. Assists faculty in creating high quality clinical experiences for nursing students by serving as a liaison between faculty and clinical agencies. The Professional Nursing Clinical Coordinator actively engages in scholarly pursuits to enhance metaprofessional skills and support learning in the areas of educational theory, instructional design and delivery, assessment, and systematic evaluation relative to both residential and distance education methods.
