Job Description Brief Description of the Role: The Senior Consultant will possess a sound understanding of independence rules and provide high-quality, professional support on independence-related matters across the Firm. The role also includes contributing to capability building within the team through the provision of training and technical guidance. Key Responsibilities: Support the Engagement Independence function within the Firm’s Ethics & Independence team by: - Managing Ethics & Independence systems, processes, and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance. - Contributing to projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. - Performing independence clearance processes for prospective audit clients across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji, including reviewing non-assurance services; conducting intake discussions with audit teams; and guiding engagement teams through the Firm’s independence clearance systems. - Assessing the permissibility of non-assurance services for PIE and non-PIE audit clients prior to approval. - Evaluating new services, including assessing permissibility of proposed service offerings to audit clients; preparing indepe...
