Job description

The main function of this position is to provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, volunteers, staff and employees. To assist and support the Safety/Security/Emergency Management and Parking management programs. 1. Discover source and/or cause of alarm. 2. Respond to panic alarms in a timely fashion. 3. Extinguish fire or contain incidents as necessary. 4. Control traffic in emergencies to maintain access for emergency vehicles. 5. Allow patient care to continue with the least interruptions. 6. After all clear – return alarm system to normal operation. - Patrol hospital property and/or facilities in an effort to ensure a safe and secure environment, performing duties outlined in department post orders and policies. In performance of their duties, officers are to cooperate with co-workers and other employees, be respectful and conduct themselves in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Treat all patients, visitors, and employees in a fair professional manner. - Conduct inspections and documental potential and real security, health and safety hazards.
