Overview Job Summary: This role will conduct carcass and carcass part sorting activities and identify any abnormal conditions or defects before carcasses and their parts are presented to online inspectors. The focus will be to separate carcasses, heads, and viscera that are abnormal from those that are normal. Key Responsibilities: - Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine if abnormalities exist. - Perform preparation (e.g., cuts) and presentation activities. - Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures (e.g., heads, tongues, viscera, carcass). - Notify the proper person if you identify, while conducting sorting activities, an animal or carcass you suspect has a reportable or foreign animal disease. - Attend training at hire and annual refresher training as needed. - Must be willing to train and educate others. - Be able to perform the QA sorter job. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
