Description SUMMARY: - Operates and tends to machines such as automatic stamping presses, single-hit presses, and rotary deburring machines with a goal of zero defects by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends. Regular attendance at work is a requirement for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reads job specifications, part prints, operator instructions and SPC control charts provided in the production kit to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. - Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade. - Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine. - Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. - Completes statistical process control (SPC) charts in accordance with in-process inspection instructions using instruments such as micrometers, calipers and tape measures to check parts. - Shuts down operation if process varies outside of SPC control limits and notifies team leader and/or quality assurance personnel. - Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece. - Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, di...
