Plant Mechanic Trainee

Job description

The purpose of this classification is to perform skilled trades work to maintain and repair equipment at Consolidated Government water utility facilities . Repairs and provides preventative maintenance on all system mechanical driven devices and equipment within the guidelines of manufacturer’s specifications, technical manuals, city and departmental policies and procedures, safety standards, and supervisory instructions. Reports to the Maintenance Group Manager or other designated person. Works with co-workers and employees to provide maintenance support. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs routine preventative and regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs on major industrial equipment in the field and at water utility facilities. - Provides routine technical repair services to heavy-duty equipment at water utility facilities. - Troubleshoots, monitors, inspects, maintains, repairs and reports problems for related grounds and equipment. - Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. - Performs general cleaning and maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in op...
