Position Title: Ophthalmic Technician - Dean McGee Eye Institute - Oklahoma Health Center Department: DMEI-Oklahoma Health Center Job Description: General Description: The Ophthalmic Technician provides clinical support by performing diagnostic testing, assisting with patient evaluations, and maintaining exam room readiness. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, referrals, and patient phone messages under direct supervision of the provider and/or clinical supervisor. Accurately collect and document medical and ocular history in an electronic medical record. Perform ophthalmic tests including Visual Acuity, Lensometry, Pupillary Assessment, Ocular Motility, Tonometry, Retinoscopy/Refractometry, Glare Testing, Topography, Color Vision, Amsler Grid, Stereopsis, Dry Eye Testing, Pachymetry, Confrontation Visual Field Testing, OCT, ASCAN, and Automated Perimetry.
