CNC Punch Press Setup Technician (Sheet Metal Fabrication) Location: Newport News, VA Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire Shift: 1st or 3rd Shift (must be flexible based on production needs) Pay: Starting at $30.00+/hour (depending on experience) Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Punch Press Setup Technician to support precision sheet metal operations. This role is responsible for preparing, programming, and running turret punch equipment while maintaining consistent quality and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Be Doing: - Prepare CNC punch press machines for production, including loading programs, selecting tooling, and staging materials - Set and verify punches, dies, and forming tools to ensure proper alignment and accuracy - Review part layouts and adjust setups to improve efficiency and reduce material waste - Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues such as tool wear, feeding inconsistencies, or material defects - Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to confirm specificati...
