Job Description The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Medical Division in the Personnel Bureau is responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of all members of service. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the mental fitness, resilience, and well-being of uniformed and civilian members of the Department. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Chief Surgeon in the planning, development, and implementation of Departmental behavioral health projects and initiatives. - Supervise and provide clinical oversight to Department psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals. - Assess mental fitness for employment, duty status, and return-to-work determinations. - Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide consultat...
