Description The University of Chicago invites applications for appointment as Instructional Professor (IP) at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full in the Department of Psychology ( https://psychology.uchicago.edu/ ) and the College. This is a full-time, career-track teaching position expected to begin on or after July 1, 2026. The initial appointment term is from three to five years depending on rank and is renewable with opportunity for promotion within the Instructional Professor track based on performance review. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. The successful candidate will annually teach 6 quarter-long undergraduate classes. Assignments may include intensive discussion courses in the Social Sciences Core curriculum, as well as introductory survey-level classes and upper-level electives in psychology. Although the area of expertise in psychology is open, we are particularly interested in candidates who are qualified to teach a broad range of topics in perception, action, and cognition as well as courses in advanced research methods, and who have experience using these methods to conduct psychological research.
