40 hours per week - Exempt Day Shift: The department of Radiation Oncology at the Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center, Baptist Health Deaconess is seeking a solo Medical Physicist as a vital member of our radiation oncology team, working closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and nurses to ensure the safe, accurate, and effective delivery of radiation therapy. As hospital Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) responsible for administering and enforcing the hospital’s Radiation Protection Program (RPP) to ensure the safe use of ionizing radiation and radioactive materials. The RSO ensures compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), State regulations , OSHA standards , and ACHC accreditation requirements , protecting patients, staff, and the public from unnecessary radiation exposure. Equipment: One Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and a Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT Scanner Software: Eclipse Planning System, and ARIA Record and Verification and E Charting system Advanced treatment techniques: 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SGRT and SRT.
