Job description

The Life Cycle Costing Engineer is responsible for evaluating, modeling, and influencing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mining truck platforms throughout their full life cycle—from concept and design through operation, maintenance, and end-of-life. This role bridges engineering design, reliability, maintenance, and field operations to ensure that design and business decisions are informed by accurate life cycle cost data. By quantifying cost drivers such as component replacement intervals, maintenance downtime, and overhaul strategies, the Life Cycle Costing Engineer supports optimized product designs, improved customer value, and reduced total operating costs. This ‘forward looking view’ is essential for proactive asset management. Responsibilities: - Design, update, and implement Life Cycle Cost (LCC) models for off-highway mining trucks, including their key components and systems. - Evaluate and quantify total cost of ownership (TCO), covering capital investment, maintenance labor, parts usage, equipment downtime, rebuild programs, and end-of-life factors. - Partner with engineering design teams to evaluate design alternatives using life cycle cost as a decision-making met...
