A Brief Overview: The Oncology Clinic Nurse oversees the oral chemotherapy process- obtaining consent, authorization and treatment teaching. Completes assessment (via telephone or in person) of patients presenting problems, questions and concerns, test results and triage accordingly to provide a response in a timely manner. Communicates effectively, recognizing underlying issues and provides appropriate guidance to patients as appropriate. Works in partnership with the new patient scheduling team and Oncology nurse navigators to ensure patients are provided appointments in a timely manner according to the practice standards and priorities accordingly.
