Overview Job Summary: Barn workers are responsible for handling all animals humanely, proper and accurate documentation of cattle received and on site, as well as cleanliness of the barn area. Key Responsibilities: - Will be working with live cattle. - Moving cattle to proper locations within the barn (ex. Truck to scale, scale to pen, pen to knock). - Ensure all gates are secure to prevent mixing of producer’s cattle. - Ensure that proper documentation is kept accurate. - Verify cattle counts and pen locations. - Properly filling out Ante-mortem inspection sheets and ensure all cattle are properly inspected prior to harvest. - Ensure all cattle have access to clean water sources. - Separate slow/ challenged cattle. Knock non-ambulatory or challenged animal. - Ensure good communication with Harvest Management, USDA, and the Finance team. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all inclusive.
