Tack Truck Operator

Job description

A tack truck operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the asphalt distributor. The driver will also perform other duties on the paving crew as needed. Valid Class B CDL license is required with Tanker & HazMat Endorsement. QUALIFICATIONS: - Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. - Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. - Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite. - Operate the tack truck and other equipment in a safe manner. - Must have the ability to work with the asphalt crew to pave roadways per plan specifications and, if need be, to perform tasks of other positions as instructed by crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met (when tack truck is not in use). - Performs pre and post trip daily vehicle inspections routinely and follows up on any issues related to the vehicle with appropriate personnel. - Load tack truck oil from tank. - Fill asphalt and burner tanks, clean and setting spray bars, and clean excess asphalt out of tanks. -...
