Entry Level Refinery Operator (Power Engineer)

Summary GFL Environmental is focused on reducing, reusing, recycling, recovering, and maximizing value from industrial waste with customers in a broad range of industry sectors. At the North Vancouver Refinery, we specialize specifically in oil recycling. Reporting to the Operation Supervisor, the Operator is accountable for day-to-day operations of process units and its ancillaries at North Vancouver Oil Refinery. This is a unionized position. The work schedule for the first six months will be 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. The schedule will then transition to a rotating schedule, 2 days then 2 nights, then 5 days off. Hours of work will be 7:00am to 7:00pm (days) and 7:00pm to 7:00am (nights). Key Accountabilities: Ensure that all units are operated to GFL standards and in accordance with all government regulations. Operate, monitor and control process levels, temperatures, pressures and flows for applicable utilities, processes and systems in a safe and efficient manner.
