Job description

Under general supervision, responsible for providing clinical nutrition care & services to patients/clients in response to research protocol and physicians orders to include the following: assessment of Patient's nutritional risks/status, development of care plans to meet nutritional needs of patients, counseling of patients & family members, and education of patients. Implements and provides appropriate nutritional care and education within the framework of a comprehensive health program. Collaborates with medical staff and a healthcare team in assessing the nutritional needs of the patient population and develops dietary interventions to support patients through treatment and beyond. Provides education to patients, caregivers, staff and the community concerning nutritional approaches to disease prevention and survivorship issues. Provides advice and consultation regarding the implementation of therapeutic diets prescribed by physicians for individual patients. Manages nutrition supplement program, provides input into grant funding applications, reports, participant identification, screening and distribution of products.
