Job DetailsJob Location: FL - Lake Wales, FL 33853Salary Range: $14.00 - $18.41 HourlyGENERAL PURPOSE Performs manual work involving the operation of equipment associated with the City's wastewater collection system. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Chief Wastewater Plant Operator. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists in inspecting and/or repairing pumping stations and collection system equipment at frequent intervals to insure that all aspects of the systems are functioning properly. Assists in maintaining a variety of records relating to inspection and maintenance activities. Assists in determining the location of gas, telephone, power, television and sewer lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation. Assists in responding to complaints regarding sewer service; evaluates situation; explain findings to supervisor. Assists in insuring the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools prior to and following use and makes minor repairs and adjustments as necessary.
