Description Brief description of the position: The School Social Worker will meet provide socioemotional support to children ages 4-12 in a special education setting. This support may include individual counseling, social skills group, or support during a behavioral crisis. The School Social Worker will work collaboratively with teachers, ed techs, behavior analysts, and other team members in order to provide a positive school environment. He/she will maintain open communication with parents and other providers to best serve the student. Part Time position. Responsibilities: - · Provide clinical services to student in a special education program for prek-4th grade individually or in groups. - · Provide modeling for other staff in handling de-escalation in a kind, ethical manner. - · Provide clinical training to ed tech and teaching staff on topics such as trauma, friendship-building, or coping skill usage.
