Home Health Services - Director of Nursing

Job description

The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the professional nursing staff and certified nursing assistants in the delivery of Home Care services. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supervise or manage all personnel who provide direct patient care. 2. Ensure that the professional standards of community nursing practice are maintained by all nurses providing care. 3. Adhere to Agency procedure and patient care policy. 4. In conjunction with Director of Home and Community Based Services, establish service policies and procedures regarding biomedical waste, safety, universal precautions, and infection control. 5. Set or adopt policies for, and keep records of criteria for admission to service, case assignments, and case management. 6. Case manager for all Home Health patients involving Home Health services. 7. Responsible for the clinical record for each patient receiving nursing care. 8. Assure progress reports are made to physician for patients receiving nursing services. 9. Makes supervisory visits to patient’s home every 60 days for those clients with Home Health services. 10.
