The athletic trainer has direct patient contact under the supervision of an attending physician/surgeon for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology. The Clinical Athletic Trainer possesses the clinical evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer to effectively provide patient-centered care. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: This athletic trainer serves as a key liaison for the practice of an attending surgeon or the practice of a satellite location. This athletic trainer may be assigned to various locations and providers within the Department of Orthopaedics to assist with the care of patients Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients with acute, chronic, or potential injuries and illnesses.
