Location: Cabell Huntington Hospital Position Type: Full-Time Department: Laboratory Services $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Available Position Summary: Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Cytotechnologist to join our Laboratory Services team. The Cytotechnologist is responsible for providing reliable and diagnostic data on body specimens through microscopic evaluation. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient safety. Key Responsibilities: Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic smears to detect and differentiate normal and abnormal cells, assigning them to appropriate diagnostic classifications. Correlate and interpret data based on a solid understanding of physiological conditions that may affect test results. Recognize problems, identify causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions. Operate analytical instruments used in cytologic testing, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot basic malfunctions. Prepare and stain cytology slides for examination.
